Instruction for Authors

Welcome to Jurnal Pendidikan dan Pengajaran Guru Sekolah Dasar (JPPGuseda). To ensure a smooth peer-review and publication process, authors are required to read and strictly follow these guidelines before submitting a manuscript.

1. General Requirements

  • Originality: Manuscripts must be entirely original work, have not been previously published, and are not currently under consideration by another journal or publisher.

  • Language: We accept manuscripts written in formal Academic English. The language used must be clear, concise, and grammatically correct.

  • Plagiarism: All submissions will be rigorously screened using Turnitin or iThenticate. The maximum allowed similarity index is 20%. Submissions exceeding this threshold will be returned or rejected.

2. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should generally range between 4,000 to 9,000 words, including references, tables, and figures. The structure must adhere to the standard IMRaD format:

  • Title: Concise, informative, and directly reflects the primary/elementary education focus (maximum 15 words).

  • Abstract: A single paragraph (150–250 words) concisely summarizing the research background, objective, methodology, key findings, and practical implications. Do not include citations in the abstract.

  • Keywords: 3 to 5 specific words or phrases separated by semicolons, crucial for indexing purposes.

  • Introduction: State the research background, the gap in existing primary education literature (state-of-the-art), the urgency of the study, the theoretical framework, and a clear research objective.

  • Method: Clearly describe the research design, participants/sample (including ethical considerations), data collection instruments, and the specific analytical techniques used to ensure the study can be replicated.

  • Results and Discussion: Present the empirical findings clearly and objectively. The discussion must interpret the results, compare or contrast them with previous studies, and explain their implications for elementary education pedagogy, digital innovation, or teacher development.

  • Conclusion: Summarize the main findings directly answering the research objectives. State the limitations of the study and provide specific recommendations for future research or educational policy.

  • Mandatory Declarations: Before the references, authors must include sections for Author Contributions, Funding, Declaration of Competing Interest, and Use of Artificial Intelligence. (See Section 6 for details).

  • References: Ensure all cited works in the text are listed in the reference section, and vice versa.

3. Formatting & Style

  • File Format: Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx).

  • Citation Style: Authors must use the American Psychological Association (APA) Style (7th Edition).

  • Reference Manager: The use of reference management software (such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote) is mandatory to ensure citation accuracy. At least 80% of the references should be primary literature (journal articles) published within the last 10 years.

  • Tables & Figures: Must be numbered consecutively (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1) and explicitly cited within the text. Figures and images must be of high resolution (minimum 300 dpi).

4. Submission Process

  • Online Submission: All manuscripts must be submitted electronically via the JPPGuseda Open Journal Systems (OJS) portal. We do not accept submissions via email.

  • Anonymous Manuscript: To facilitate the Double-Blind Peer Review process, ensure that the main manuscript file contains no author names, affiliations, or identifying information.

  • Title Page / Supplementary File: Upload a separate file (or fill in the OJS metadata completely) containing:

    • Full names and institutional affiliations of all authors.

    • The email address of the Corresponding Author.

    • A brief Acknowledgement section (if any funding was received).

5. Peer Review & Editorial Policy

  • Each submission undergoes an initial desk review by the Editorial Board to check for scope, formatting, and plagiarism.

  • Suitable papers are sent to at least two independent expert reviewers under a Double-Blind Review system.

  • The final decision (Accept, Revisions Required, or Reject) rests entirely with the Editor-in-Chief.

  • Withdrawal Penalty: Withdrawing a manuscript after the peer-review process has commenced or during the production phase is strongly discouraged and will incur a penalty fee of IDR 500,000.

6. Ethics and Mandatory Declarations

At the end of the manuscript (before the References), authors must explicitly declare the following:

  • Author Contributions: Author contributions follow the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy). Use only the contributor roles applicable to this manuscript (e.g., Conceptualization, Methodology, Software, Validation, Formal analysis, Investigation, Resources, Data Curation, Writing - original draft, Writing - review & editing, Visualization, Supervision, Project administration, Funding acquisition).

     

  • Funding: Disclose all sources of financial support for the research. If no funding was received, state: "This research received no external funding."

     

  • Declaration of Competing Interest: Declare any financial or personal relationships that could inappropriately influence the work. If none exist, state: "The authors declare that they have no known competing financial interests or personal relationships that could have appeared to influence the work reported in this paper."

  • Use of Artificial Intelligence: In accordance with our GenAI Policy, authors must declare if AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) were used to improve readability or translate text. State the name of the tool and its specific purpose. If no AI was used, state: "The authors declare that no artificial intelligence (AI) tools were used in the creation of this manuscript."

  • Data Availability (Optional but Recommended): Indicate where the research data can be accessed, provided participant confidentiality is maintained.
