Jurnal Pendidikan dan Pengajaran Guru Sekolah Dasar (JPPGuseda) operates under a sustainable Open Access publishing model designed to ensure immediate, free global access to scholarly research. To maintain transparency, the financial structure and revenue sources of the journal are outlined below:

1. Primary Sources of Revenue

  • Article Processing Charges (APCs): The primary financial support for the operational costs of the journal comes from modest APCs levied only on manuscripts that have successfully passed the rigorous double-blind peer-review process and been accepted for publication. Manuscripts that are rejected do not incur any charges.

  • Institutional Support: Additional financial and infrastructural backing is provided by the publisher, Universitas Pakuan, to support the journal's sustainability and long-term development.

  • No Commercial Advertising: JPPGuseda does not accept advertisements, sponsored content, or commercial promotions of any kind, ensuring that commercial interests never interfere with editorial content.

  • No Reader Subscriptions: Because the journal is fully open access, no subscription fees or paywalls are ever imposed on readers or academic institutions.

2. APC Pricing Structure and Determinants

The standard APC for accepted manuscripts is 750,000 IDR (with available waiver policies for high-impact international authors). This fee is clearly published on the journal's website and is evaluated periodically. The pricing is calculated to cover the essential costs of professional publishing operations, which include:

  • Editorial management and technical processing workflows.

  • Plagiarism screening infrastructure (e.g., Turnitin).

  • Digital Object Identifier (DOI) registration for every published article.

  • Professional copyediting, language polishing, layout formatting, and PDF typesetting.

  • Long-term digital archiving and web hosting maintenance.

3. Editorial Independence and Financial Firewall

In strict compliance with COPE principles, JPPGuseda enforces an absolute separation between editorial decision-making and financial operations.

  • Editorial decisions (Accept, Revise, or Reject) are made exclusively by the Editor-in-Chief and Handling Editors based on academic merit, methodological rigor, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

  • The payment of an APC, or eligibility for an APC waiver, never influences the peer-review process or editorial decisions. Reviewers and editors operate entirely independently of financial considerations.
