Aim

Jurnal Pendidikan dan Pengajaran Guru Sekolah Dasar (JPPGuseda) is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal dedicated to advancing research, theory, and practice in elementary and primary education. The journal provides a scholarly forum for researchers, educators, teacher educators, and practitioners to disseminate original research that advances understanding and practice in teaching, learning, pedagogy, curriculum, educational innovation, and learner development in elementary and primary education.

JPPGuseda aims to promote research that addresses contemporary challenges in elementary education and contributes to evidence-based educational practice. The journal particularly welcomes studies that develop, examine, or evaluate innovative approaches to teaching and learning, educational technologies, STEM and STEAM education, competency development, culturally responsive education, and environmental and sustainability education.

Scope

JPPGuseda focuses on research in elementary and primary education. The journal welcomes empirical, theoretical, and developmental studies that make clear and substantive contributions to educational theory, practice, policy, or teacher preparation relevant to elementary and primary education.

The journal's areas of focus include, but are not limited to:

  1. Teaching and Learning in Elementary Education
    Teaching and learning processes, classroom practices, subject-specific education, student engagement, learning outcomes, meaningful learning, and innovative approaches to elementary education.
  2. Innovative Pedagogy and Curriculum
    Inquiry-based, problem-based, project-based, experiential, contextual, differentiated, inclusive, and student-centered learning; curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation in elementary education.
  3. Educational Technology and Digital Innovation
    Digital learning, artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, interactive multimedia, digital learning resources, educational games, gamification, and other emerging technologies for elementary and primary education.
  4. STEM, STEAM, and Competency Development
    Science and mathematics education, STEM and STEAM learning, scientific and mathematical literacy, critical and creative thinking, problem solving, collaboration, communication, and other competencies relevant to elementary learners.
  5. Cultural, Environmental, and Contextual Education
    Culturally responsive teaching, local and indigenous knowledge, sociocultural learning, environmental and sustainability education, ecoliteracy, disaster education, and other contextually relevant approaches to elementary and primary education.

    Elementary teacher preparation, professional learning, pedagogical competence, teacher practices, and professional development of teachers serving elementary and primary education.

Research Approaches

JPPGuseda welcomes qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods research, as well as rigorous research and development, design-based research, systematic reviews, and bibliometric studies, provided that the research makes a clear and substantive contribution to elementary and primary education.

Scope Boundaries

The primary focus of JPPGuseda is elementary and primary education. Manuscripts primarily concerned with secondary education, higher education, or general educational issues without a clear and substantive connection to elementary and primary education are normally considered outside the journal's scope.

Studies involving elementary teacher education are considered when their findings have clear implications for the preparation, professional development, or practice of teachers serving in elementary and primary education.
