Jurnal Pendidikan dan Pengajaran Guru Sekolah Dasar (JPPGuseda) operates a rigorous, transparent, and objective double-blind peer-review process to maintain the highest standards of scholarly quality. The editorial workflow ensures that every submitted manuscript is evaluated fairly and consistently by qualified independent experts in the field of elementary and primary education.

Editorial Independence & Ethical Commitment

  • Editorial Independence: JPPGuseda strictly adheres to the principle of editorial independence. Editorial decisions are based exclusively on academic merit, scientific validity, methodological rigor, and relevance to the journal’s scope. Decisions are never influenced by Article Processing Charges (APCs), reprint revenue, institutional funding, or the personal, political, or financial affiliations of the authors.

  • Commitment to Publishing Ethics: The journal is fully dedicated to upholding international ethical standards in scholarly publishing, operating in alignment with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines.

Estimated Publication Timeline

To provide authors with a clear expectation of the editorial process, JPPGuseda targets the following estimated timeframe:

  • Initial Screening to 1st Decision (Desk Review): 1–2 Weeks

  • Double-Blind Peer Review Process: 3–19 Weeks

  • Submission to Final Acceptance: 20–22 Weeks

Editorial Decision-Making Workflow

1. Manuscript Submission and Initial Screening Upon submission, manuscripts undergo a preliminary review by the Editor-in-Chief or a designated Managing Editor to ensure:

  • Alignment with the journal’s aims and scope.

  • Strict compliance with the author guidelines, formatting rules, and ethical standards.

  • Originality and absence of academic misconduct, verified through a thorough plagiarism screening. Outcome: Manuscripts failing to meet these foundational criteria will receive a Desk Rejection. Eligible manuscripts will proceed to the next stage.

2. Editor Assignment Manuscripts passing the initial screening are assigned to a Handling Editor (Section or Associate Editor). This editor manages the peer-review process, selects appropriate reviewers, and ultimately prepares an editorial recommendation.

3. Double-Blind Peer Review Process JPPGuseda employs a strict double-blind review system, ensuring the anonymity of both authors and reviewers. The Handling Editor assigns the manuscript to at least two independent external reviewers who evaluate the work based on:

  • Originality and substantive contribution to primary education.

  • Methodological soundness and rigor.

  • Theoretical framework and relevance to the field.

  • Clarity of expression, structure, and overall presentation.

4. Editorial Evaluation Once the reviewer reports are submitted, the Handling Editor synthesizes the feedback and provides a preliminary recommendation to the Editor-in-Chief. The possible editorial decisions at this stage are:

  • Accept Submission: The manuscript is accepted as is (rare).

  • Minor Revision: The manuscript requires slight adjustments regarding formatting, clarification, or referencing.

  • Major Revision: The manuscript requires significant restructuring, re-analysis of data, or extensive theoretical refinement.

  • Reject Submission: The manuscript is fundamentally flawed, lacks originality, or falls outside the journal's standard of quality.

5. Communication and Revisions Authors are notified of the editorial decision and provided with the anonymized reviewer reports. If a revision is requested, authors must submit the revised manuscript alongside a detailed, point-by-point response letter addressing all comments from the reviewers and the editor.

6. Re-Review and Final Decision Revised manuscripts are re-evaluated by the Handling Editor and, if necessary, sent back to the original reviewers to verify that all concerns have been adequately addressed. The Editor-in-Chief holds final responsibility for the ultimate decision to accept or reject the manuscript.

7. Publication Scheduling Once accepted, the manuscript moves into the production phase, which includes professional copyediting, typesetting, and layout adjustments. Authors will be notified when their manuscript is scheduled for publication in the upcoming issue.

Appeals Process

JPPGuseda provides a fair mechanism for authors who wish to appeal a rejection decision. Authors may submit a formal, well-justified appeal letter to the Editor-in-Chief. The appeal will be reviewed by an independent panel from the Editorial Board who were not involved in the original decision. The decision made by this appellate panel is final.
